pink’-wah-sher

Pinkwasher: (pink’-wah-sher) noun. A company or organization that claims to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon product, but at the same time produces, manufactures and/or sells products that are linked to the disease.

For example… Susan G. Komen for the Cure new Promise Me contains chemicals not listed in the ingredients!, what’s healthy about KFC – what the cluck!, Yoplait uses yogurt from cows that are treated with rbST, Campbell Soup cans contain a plastic coating called BPA a known hormone disruptor…

They really don’t care about Breast Cancer and are using cause marketing and profiting BIG while contributing VERY little to the cause. It should be about PREVENTION and not corporate profits! But they know that adding a pink ribbon to the product makes it desirable to the unknowing public. The truth is Action Speaks Louder than Pink!
